Chennai gets most of its rain from the northeast monsoon between October and December, so coastal plans in those months need a back-up. April to June is hot across Tamil Nadu, which makes the hills more appealing.
January to March is peak season for company trips across India, so the best venues book out early. Planning in the preceding months gives you the most choice.
